The Quiet Man
The Quiet Man Piano and Soprano (2015)
“The Quiet Man” sets the text of a poem I wrote after the death of a good friend. There are three stanzas. The first represents the present and very real mystery surrounding the circumstances of his death. The second represents our past friendship, and the third his future. “The Quiet Man” begins and ends with fragments of morse code in the low register of the piano. The morse code combined with the bowed vibraphone suggests a supernatural presence.
