A Note From the Composer
When you move around a lot, places function like tent poles. It becomes those places and not time that give structure to the fabric of your memories. For me, those spots have been where I briefly existed and observed not only the place but myself with the acuity of an interloper. Just Drop a Pin doesn't necessarily embody the spirit of these places or give a total account of my experience. It simply explores what it might be like to appear, right now, in those places, and just watch for a few minutes. The first movement was recently a finalist for the 2017 FNMC Chamber Music Competition.
