A Portrait
A Portrait Album made possible by a grant from the York County Arts Council, 2012
"Death and Crucifixion" was written for piano, clarinet, and percussion. It reflects the last year in the life of J.R., a recently deceased homeless friend.
"A Love Observed" was written for alto saxophone and piano. It features melodies and ideas written over the course of a year. Having no particular programatic element, it is a broad brushed emotional work.
"Evening and Soon" was written for two classical guitars, voice, and saxophone. Evening touches on aspects of my own father, while the second movement Soon is about waiting for my own son to arrive.
